What this engineer does
Mobile work fails on the parts that are invisible in a demo: store review, device fragmentation, offline state, push delivery, crash triage and release cadence. The engineers we place have owned those, which is why we screen on a real codebase rather than on algorithm puzzles.
Most clients start with one engineer against an existing app and a backlog. If the app is new, a pair — one platform engineer and one backend — gets to a TestFlight build faster than a solo hire, and costs less than a single senior developer in your own market.
Briefs we see most often
- An app in the stores with a backlog your in-house team cannot clear
- A React Native or Flutter rebuild of two separate native codebases
- Release engineering: Fastlane, signing, staged rollouts, crash triage
- A new app that needs a working build in front of users this quarter

All-inclusive and indicative, shown so you can compare us against a local hire. Monthly figures assume 160 hours a month and the same for the day-rate markets, so the two always reconcile. Engagements are contracted as a monthly capacity fee or a fixed-scope deliverable, with our own delivery lead accountable for the outcome — see engagement models. There is no setup fee, no recruitment fee and no management surcharge.
Questions
Hiring mobile app developers
- How much does it cost to hire mobile app developers in India?
- $28–38/hour all-inclusive through Skydream Digital, which is $4,480–6,080/month for a full-time engineer at 160 hours a month. That covers salary, employer costs, equipment, security tooling and management — there is no setup fee, recruitment fee or management surcharge on top. UK buyers pay £210–300/day, Australian buyers A$38–52/hour and UAE buyers AED 135–185/hour.
- Native or cross-platform?
- If the app leans on platform capability — background location, widgets, deep OS integration, heavy media — native is cheaper over three years. If it is forms, lists and API calls on both platforms, React Native or Flutter halves the build. We will tell you which your brief actually is before you commit to a team shape.
- Who owns the App Store and Play accounts?
- You do, always. We work inside your developer accounts under your own organisation, with named access that you can revoke. We never hold the signing identity for an app you own.
- Can one engineer cover both platforms?
- On React Native or Flutter, yes, and that is the usual shape. On native, no — a strong Swift engineer is not a strong Kotlin engineer, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a generalist.
