What this engineer does
A dedicated engineer is not a ticket queue at the other end of an email thread. They sit in your Slack, take work from your board, open pull requests against your branch rules and attend your standup inside your working hours. The only difference from an employee is who runs payroll and who carries the hiring risk.
This is the model to pick when the work is ongoing and the context is expensive to transfer. Where the work is a defined deliverable with an end date, a fixed-scope project costs you less and carries less management load — we will say so rather than sell you a longer engagement.
Briefs we see most often
- A roadmap that needs two to five more hands for the next year
- A team that lost an engineer and cannot refill locally in under four months
- Ongoing maintenance and feature work on a product nobody wants to staff internally
- Extra capacity for a release push, kept on afterwards if it works

All-inclusive and indicative, shown so you can compare us against a local hire. Monthly figures assume 160 hours a month and the same for the day-rate markets, so the two always reconcile. Engagements are contracted as a monthly capacity fee or a fixed-scope deliverable, with our own delivery lead accountable for the outcome — see engagement models. There is no setup fee, no recruitment fee and no management surcharge.
Questions
Hiring dedicated developers
- How much does it cost to hire dedicated developers in India?
- $28–38/hour all-inclusive through Skydream Digital, which is $4,480–6,080/month for a full-time engineer at 160 hours a month. That covers salary, employer costs, equipment, security tooling and management — there is no setup fee, recruitment fee or management surcharge on top. UK buyers pay £210–300/day, Australian buyers A$38–52/hour and UAE buyers AED 135–185/hour.
- Do they work only for us?
- Yes. A dedicated engineer is assigned to one client. We do not time-slice people across accounts, and we do not bill the same hour twice.
- What if the person is not right?
- You interview the shortlist before anyone starts, which catches most of it. If someone is still wrong in the first two weeks, we replace them and you do not pay for that engineer's time.
- How long do we have to commit?
- Three months to start, then 30 days' notice. We do not ask for a year, because an engagement that needs a lock-in to survive is not working.
